Documentum

January 5th, 2009

I started working in Content/Knowledge and Document management about 2 years back when I was assigned to a doomed project. Lack of documentation, training and resources not only made it difficult to understand Documentum but also a challange. But the real adventure began when I was asked to fix the same project on customer’s premise. I had no option but to learn!

After almost 2 years, I think I’ve finally learned enough Documentum and Input Accel to start writing about it and help others pick it - especially the dark areas like distributed setups, ACS, performance improvements, DFS, BOF, Composer etc. I feel that Documentum still remains a black box for most developers outside EMC, primary because they don’t know where to look for information and because of the number of technologies and components involved.

It was this complexity in mind that I started dm_blog, a blog for all Documentum people, administrators and developers included. dm_blog will be my primary site for publishing everything related to Documentum, Input Accel and Knowledge/Content and Document management, though I’ll be summerizing and indexing my posts here as well. Here’s an index for you (reverse chronological order):
