Mac

My love for Macs and Apple dates back to days when Apple was not a phenomenon, when Apple was crippling with financial losses, when Steve Jobs was not the CEO of Apple and when Apple still had “Computers” in its name (its just Apple Inc. now). I first read about a Mac (Macintosh, as they were known back then) in a magazine sometime when I was in 8th or 9th grade. And I fell in love. This love grew with time and  eventually became an obsession. Of course, I had no means of affording a Mac back then so I waited until I could. And in the winters of 2006, I finally bought one. And I bought the best one that was available - it was 17″ Mac Book Pro with Intel  Core 2 Duo processor (2.33 GHZ)/2 GB RAM/160 GB HDD/DVD writer/built in iSight and Mac OS X Tiger. And my love has been growing stronger ever since. I cant imagine my life without it.

I’m not one of those Mac users who curse Microsoft and Linux, I do use a Windows workstation for work, but I just can’t and won’t own any other brand now unless Apple really screws it up. Those of you who have ever used a Mac know it. I can’t explain it to the rest. The best thing about a Mac is the whole OS is transparent - you can just concentrate on your work without bothering about OS/hardware details or anything else. You can be so much more productive when you are on a Mac. That’s the bottom line.

However, unlike any other Mac user, I won’t be blogging about Apple or Steve Jobs or how Windows sucks. Instead, being a developer, I’d write about Mac software development, Mac OS X (development) and would review some of the available software. I would also discuss workarounds and issues for bugs (Yes, there are a few) that are present in OS X.
